Marta Cristina improves her reading

Dear Barclay and Jeremy,

Marta Cristina loves the book you sent her. A resident of rural Guatemala, it was difficult for her to improve her reading skills in years past because there were no materials to read. Through your generosity, Barclay and Jeremy, she is able to share the book with her friends and siblings — this has introduced more and more children to books. Thank you so much for this lovely gift.

Siblings love to share their new book

Dear Jamie,

Luis and Lilian live in the highlands of Guatemala and have had little access to story books in the past. They cherish Fabulas de Siempre, the book that you gave them Jamie, and love to talk about what they read; they find the fables very interesting and think that they provide great lessons. Lillian reads out loud to her mother to practice and her mother is very proud of her progressing reading abilities.

Thank you Jamie for supporting the intellectual growth of these children!

Irma can improve her reading skills!

Dear Kjera,

11 year-old Irma is in 4th grade in a small rural village in the Guatemalan Highlands. An avid reader, Irma loves stories but her family cannot afford to purchase books. This new book has many stories and Irma is delighted that she will be able to read a new story every night.

Thank you so much Kjera! Your generosity will help Irma learn to read at a higher level and learn more Spanish, which is great for her schooling. Most drop-outs in the area come from children that don´t succeed in reading. Your kindness will help Irma stay in school!

Richard is creative and enthusiastic

Richard
Dear Megan,

Richard is 16 years old and lives in a small village in Guatemala called Saquitacaj. Recently, the Agatha tropical storm severely impacted his family, forcing them to live in a shelter. With a disabled father and a very busy mother doing everything she can to put food on the table, Richard and his siblings’ future did not look too bright. Thanks to the kind donation from you, Megan, Richard is now able to study.

His teachers describe him as a great example to others, full of perseverance and he makes “any obstacle an opportunity.” He will be graduating next year, and plans to study computer science while working to support his family. Your donation will help him reach his goal. Thank you!
